The audit log records actions taken across your workspace, including sign-ins, file activity, billing changes, contract signatures, and more. It enables teams to investigate incidents, verify compliance, and understand operational history. This feature is available to Advanced and Enterprise plan subscribers. Starter and Professional plan users receive a limited 24-hour preview.

How to access the audit log

To view the audit log, go to Settings in the sidebar, then select Audit log. Events display in reverse chronological order (newest first), using the viewer’s local time zone.

Filtering

Two primary filter types are available:
  • User: Locate actions by specific individuals through searchable name lookup.
  • Event: Narrow results to particular action types, such as Login Succeeded or Magic Link Sent.
Filters can be combined for detailed analysis across multiple dimensions (for example, all failed login attempts by one person).

What’s recorded

Each audit entry captures the actor performing the action, the source location (web, automation, or API), the specific event type, the originating IP address, the user agent (device and browser) details, and precise timestamps.

Event categories

The system tracks activities across authentication, internal user management, CRM operations (contact and company changes), file handling, contracts, forms, billing, messaging, notes, notifications, tasks, and developer activity.

Exporting the audit log

Advanced and Enterprise subscribers can download audit logs as CSV files, with any applied filters reflected in the export.

Custom app events

Developers can integrate custom app events into the audit log via the Events API, consolidating custom actions with Assembly’s native event tracking.
